Energy changes

• Deemed to Satisfy (DtS) now available for all projects - the Energy Deemed to Satisfy (DtS) pathway is now available for all sizes of projects with non-residential spaces. Previously, projects over 1000sqm of conditioned non-residential space could not choose the Energy DtS pathway.

• Deemed to Satisfy (DtS) updated questions - to align with NCC2019. For an interim period, facade criteria will only be required to meet NCC (recognising the changes in NCC2019 are significant). Minor wording change for roofs and floors as the stringency in NCC2019 is mainly unchanged and no change to HVAC and hot water criteria.

• Credit point changes - credit points for dwellings remain unchanged.
  For an interim period for non-residential spaces, points will be awarded for 0% improvement or better. This will be reviewed later in 2020 when NCC2019 will be much better understood and application refined.

• Credit Wording & Tool Notes - energy credit criteria wording, tool tips and tool notes revised to align with the threshold and energy entry changes.

• Non-residential Energy Profiles table (JV3 modelling results) - revised to better align with NCC2019 and BESS requirements for credit calculations. This includes a new input for lighting - this is used in the calculation for credit 4.2 - Solar PV.

• Credit 1.1 Thermal Performance Rating - Non-Residential calculation changed from including heating and cooling systems to being fabric only (aligning approach with similar energy credit 1.2 for dwellings).

• Non-residential spaces - DtS default energy consumption updated. This is used for calculating the solar pv percentage of energy consumption for credit 4.2. The new values are in line with NCC2019 allowances.

• Energy - Greenhouse Gas Factors used in energy calculations have been updated.
